Emergency Warning Systems:
Intelligent solutions to monitor, respond, instruct, record and protect.
Spectur's Advanced Emergency Warning Systems and Flood Monitoring Technology
Spectur offers a range of autonomous emergency warning systems designed to enhance community safety across Australia, from shark and beach alerts to fire and flood alarms. These intelligent systems integrate onboard, nearby, distant or 3rd party sensors automatically or with human intervention, to quickly alert individuals and the community to dangers, especially in scenarios where emergency responders are not immediately available on-site. Spectur’s emergency response beacons (ERBs) can be deployed at a broad variety of recreational and outdoor facilities or communities, including beaches, lakes and dams, parks, playgrounds and more.
Unlike other solutions, these ERBs don’t need wired power or cabled internet to connect the community. The solar-battery solutions, extended antenna and onboard modems and clever data management ensure that Spectur ERBs remain connected when needed.
Dealing with climate disasters like floods requires technology that can provide accurate data while operating off-the-grid. As floodwaters rise, critical infrastructure can be damaged or entirely incapacitated. Spectur platforms can provide visual confirmation of water levels, or be integrated with onboard or separate water level sensing technology to provide an integrated solution for identifying and measuring flood conditions.
Problems Spectur solves
Environmental monitoring
Spectur’s platforms facilitate on-site environmental monitoring, covering parameters such as water and air quality, contamination levels, and water levels. With live feed access, personnel can monitor potential risks even remotely, while AI-enabled security camera feeds empower systems to detect and promptly alert staff to any identified threats.
Beachside safety incident alert
At beachfronts, the emergency response beacons (ERBs) serve as vigilant safety measures, particularly in the absence of lifeguards or security patrols. Leveraging artificial intelligence for image analysis, Spectur’s solar security cameras can play a crucial role in detecting or reporting individuals in danger, whether due to medical emergencies or unforeseen circumstances like being swept off rocks, facilitating quick rescue responses.
Detect bushfire risks
A hazard and bushfire early warning system can save lives. This is especially true for climate-vulnerable countries like Australia. By integrating smoke or temperature sensors, our Spectur’s emergency warning platform will be able to visibly and audibly warn the community and provide further instructions for evacuation. You can remotely assess what’s happening with a live feed and deploy these mobile or fixed solar-powered solutions as needed.
Alert to extreme events
Other natural hazards such as extreme heat, earthquake, tsunami and others are often identified early using advance warning sensors (weather stations or vibration monitors for example) that can be used to automate a warning response at remote and outdoor locations. For these and related hazards, spoken warnings, flashing lights and even digital signboards can be used to alert the community of the hazard and a 2-way VOIP phone used for the public to contact first responders. This can be particularly useful if they identify the hazard and want to report it to the right people, immediately. The systems also provide camera vision in realtime, to enable first responders to have situational awareness.
Warn about sharks
The instant a tagged shark or smart drumline triggers a related sensor or a surf lifesaver or ranger manually activates the system, Spectur’s Emergency Response Beacons (ERBs) can emit a bright visual alarm and spoken (shouted) instructions to leave the water. This can be heard up to 400m from shore. Because our emergency warning systems are wireless and only need 4G reception to transmit data, they can and have been deployed at many remote and unpatrolled beaches. Access is no problem as our systems can be hand carried and assembled in situ to tackle the most challenging of sites.
Spectur typically provides our safety, warning and remote communication solutions to:
Local, state and federal government and government owned enterprises
Surf lifesaving and other not-for-profit community providers responsible for outdoor safety.
Coastal, Marine and Waterway Management
